Many people have methods or opinions on how to be healthy. The number of "gurus" and fitness buffs on the internet increases every day, but rarely do we consider why one should even focus on being healthy. To start off, what does it mean to be healthy? We at The Rock believe health goes past the absence of symptoms and into the world of innate wellness. The umbrella of Health can be divided into three main categories, physical, chemical, and mental-emotional health.

Physical Health
So many people have a symptom-based mentality when it comes to their physical health. If there is no pain or stiffness in a person's body they will usually describe themselves as fine, but there is so much more to physical health than the absence of pain. People should be asking themselves, "do I truly feel like I am exactly where I want to be in terms of my health?" "Am I happy with the range of motion and bodily strength I currently have?" "Is my posture correct?" "Do I believe that if I spent more time focusing on my bodily structure that I would be happier from day to day?" If any of these answers appear unsatisfactory, we highly suggest allowing us here at The Rock to work with you on a path to increasing your physical health.

Chemical Health
Every day our world around us is becoming more and more time-consuming. Things need our attention at work, at home, on the weekends, and later and later into the night. As the world swirls around us, one of the most commonly neglected areas of health is our diet. What are we putting into our bodies? What kind of drinks are we feeding ourselves to just "make it through the day?" Is our diet getting helping us grow, or getting in the way of our growth? Not only can our diet impact our days, but decreased nutrition can also have an impact on our long-term health as well. Being intentional about our Chemical Health can boost our mood, maintain energy for longer portions of the day, and ultimately increase our quality-of-life further into our lives.

Mental-Emotional Health
As days in our world become more divisive, we must spend time every day and check in on our mental health. Keeping your stress levels low is imperative to keeping our cortisol levels low and reducing inflammation. Try building up a mentality of peace. If possible, try to keep conversations about controversial topics civil and efficient, and find moments to reset after those conversations. Seek to understand and conquer the stresses in your day, and not allow them to dictate your daily routine. Keep your daily routine productive and make sure you are not spreading yourself too thin. All in all, keeping your Mental Health working for you instead of against you will keep you productive and happier even in the most stressful of seasons.

Keeping these factors in mind will not only decrease stress, but it will allow you to find more energy in your day. Use this energy to drive yourself to fulfill your purpose! There is so much life to live out in today's world, allow yourself the health to go out and experience it!

Be Healthy, y'all!
